Stop by Room 161 to see Mrs. Adams for a surprise.

Today’s college visit is from Rochester College.  Stop by their table in the cafeteria during all lunches.

For the next 3 days we're going to remind you of the dress code expectations. You'll hear them in the announcements and teachers may remind you as well. Then on Thursday, we will make a concerted effort to enforce the dress code throughout the day. On that day teachers may issue detentions each hour to any student in violation of the dress code. So let's pay close attention to the expectations and reminders this week. The test will be Thursday and it should be an easy A.

Here are today's reminders:

Clothing must cover areas from one armpit across to the other armpit, down to approximately 3 to 4 inches in length on the upper thighs.  Tops must have shoulder straps.  Rips or tears in clothing should be lower than the 3 to 4 inches in length.

Shoes must be worn at all times and should be safe for school (onesie pajamas or slippers or socks or bare feet are not allowed).

See-through or mesh garments must not be worn without appropriate coverage underneath that meet the minimum requirements of the dress code.

Headgear including hats, hoods, and caps are not allowed.

See our website for the complete dress code: https://www.chippewavalleyschools.org/schools/high-schools/cvhs/students-parents/positive-behavior/

Now let's be ready to learn - hoods off, hats off, shirts zipped up, earbuds out, phones away - have a great day!

Today’s Red Ribbon announcement: Good morning from CTC. As we close out the Red Ribbon Week, did you know that excessive alcohol use by teens is responsible for almost 4000 deaths each year. CVHS cares about us an wants us to be successful. So, Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free and get to your bright future by staying away from substances.

Next week is the last week of the first marking period. It's time to finish strong, turn in assignments and study for tests. It's also a time to set some goals for a new marking period. And remember goals are accomplished through habits. If your habits didn't lead to success first quarter, then you need some new habits. Start small. Do one small thing that you can do every day that will make a difference. Small things add up. And remember, our dress code is a part of this fresh start. Next week we will continue with our reminders and focus on dress code, so that your habits for dress are also in place and we can start quarter 2 with an academic focus.

Let's be great together. Happy Fist Bump Friday. Now let's be ready to learn - hoods off, hats off, shirts zipped up, earbuds out, phones away - have a great day!

Today’s Red Ribbon announcement is from Natalia Golpe:  Hello again from CVHS Coalition Teen Council. You do not have to use drugs to fit in. Look around to see who else has red on today. The fact for today is that big tobacco companies have targeted us, so that we will get hooks and spend our money on vapes rather than the things we might enjoy for a lifetime.

It's a Thumbs Up Thursday. Make it a great one! Now let's be ready to learn - hoods off, hats off, shirts zipped up, earbuds out, phones away - have a great day!

Today’s Red Ribbon announcement is from Kevin Krishti:  Good morning! The Red Ribbon fact for today is that marijuana is the drug most frequently found in the blood of drivers involved in, and responsible for, car crashes. Marijuana affects judgement, motor skills, performance at school and increases your risk to be paranoid, see and hear things that others do not, and have false beliefs. Staying away from substances means you are investing in your future. Find your passion, join a club, take up a new hobby and be you. There will be a table at lunch with a lot of resources, stop by. And wear red tomorrow.

Also, hats, hoods, and other headcovers should not be worn. Our first action is to remind you of these expectations and to have you correct your dress accordingly. If you cannot correct, or refuse to correct, or need continuous reminders to correct, then you can expect further action to be taken. Please follow these expectations, they exist in order to create a safe, structured school, with a focus on learning and growth.
