We had 4 students selected as outstanding performers in The SpongeBob Musical for the Sutton Foster Awards. These students will join students who were selected for the same honor for their school musicals throughout Michigan, and will perform and compete with them for their chance to go to the national competition on Broadway in New York. Congratulations to the following CVHS students selected to go:

Thirty-three motivated and professional marketing and business students participated in a DECA competition this past Saturday. It is observed annually in the United States on December 7, to remember and honor the 2,403 Americans who were killed in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, which led to the United States declaring war on Japan the next day and thus entering World War II.

Today after school in the media center, Coalition Teen Council and Turning Point will be presenting "Breaking the Silence."  Every 68 seconds a person in the US is sexually assaulted.  While sexual violence affects the lives of many, there are still many myths about what it is and how to help someone.  Student will learn about this and leave the presentation with tools to provide support and offer resources.  We hope to see you there.

Would you like to help promote mental health while creating a sense of belonging in our school? If so, please attend a Wellness Committee meeting tomorrow from 2:15 - 3:00 in the Community Room. And bring a friend.

Would you like to share your thoughts and concerns with the principal? Plan a project? Paint a wall? Make an impact? Come to the Student Impact Team Meeting on Wednesday, December 6 from 2:15 - 3:00 in room 227.

  Attention Juniors and Seniors – If you are interested in joining the military, please sign up for the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test that will be given here at Chippewa on December 7th - 1st and 2nd hours in the media center.  Sign up is available in the counseling office.  If you have questions, please see your counselor. 

It’s the start of a new month. Time to take a minute to nominate a staff member for recognition for Big Red Pride. And keep doing your best to display that same PRIDE. This month we focus especially on Integrity. Integrity is adherence to moral and ethical principles. In other words, being a good person. Definitely a good area of focus for all of us.

Would you like to help promote and support mental health and wellness in our school? If so, please attend a Wellness Committee meeting next Tuesday, December 5 from 2:15 - 3:00 in the Community Room.

The Powderbuff tournament will take place today at 4:30pm.

Chief of the Valley is tonight at 7 p.m. in the auditorium and it is free admission! Watch 10 amazing seniors impersonate teachers, lip sync to your favorite songs, and more! This is an event you don't want to miss out on! Let's see who our Chief of the Valley will be! 

All of these meetings and events are great ways to connect with our school and your classmates. Join the fun.
