Are you interested in medicine or health science and like to travel? There is a Health Science Tour of Great Britain happening in the Summer of 2027 and you are invited! Travel with Mrs. Hellem, one of the medical careers teachers from Dakota and earn high school credits along the way! There will be an info meeting at Dakota on Tuesday, March 17th at 6pm. If you forgot to bring your money, you can buy your ticket tomorrow night at the box office in the auditorium lobby — be sure to bring your student ID. The box office opens at 5:30 PM, doors open at 6:30 PM and close at 6:55pm, and the show begins at 7:00 PM. Don’t miss it!

We are excited to announce our Fall 2026 musical: Frozen! Students interested in participating should complete the Welcome Form - it takes about 20 minutes and you will need a parent for some of it. Students who received an email from BSU about the DIA trip should pick up a permission slip in Room 149. Completed slips must be turned in by Monday the 16th to attend the trip. This reminder only applies to students who received the BSU email.
Any girl interested in playing flag football this spring should attend tryouts on the following dates. Sunday, March 15th at 2:00 pm in the 9th grade center gym and Tuesday, March 17th at 6:30 pm also in the 9th grade center gym. For more information please contact Coach Wilson

Congratulations to our Winterguard team who earned first place overall, and first place in every caption, this past weekend at the Ohio Indoor Performance Association competition. Their show is called “Connecting” and is about becoming who you’re intended to be. They scored a 72.74, increasing their score more than 5 points from their last show. They have one more competition next weekend at Carmen-Ainsworth High School and then will prepare for State Championships on March 28. Congratulations and Good Luck to the Winterguard Team.

This past weekend, 26 Deca students traveled to Downtown Detroit to compete with over 6,000 students at the State Career Development Conference. Congratulations to Alyssa O'Neal and Emanuel Pashki on receiving Gold Certified for the Red Zone School Store. Tivonni Mahaffey and Rita Hillawi on being State Champions and the top 10 state finalists are Lanie Peters, Brooklynne Birli, Kenzie Mcgrath, Dom Legato, and Sammy Mestari. Andrea Parham completed a community service entrepreneurship project and advanced to the Thrive Academy.

The 24 hour period from sundown tonight to sundown tomorrow is the Global Day of Unplugging. I challenge everyone to put your phones away during that time and embrace other activities, especially with other people - go for a walk, play a game, go out to eat - live for a little while without your phone. I hope that you will accept the challenge.
