Master Planning Update
Our district has embarked on an important initiative to develop a new Master Plan that will guide the future of our schools for the next decade. Over the past year and a half, we have analyzed demographic and enrollment trends, assessed how our facilities are utilized, and identified future needs. With our student population shifting from a peak of approximately 16,200 students to about 14,200 today, strategic planning is essential for the continued success of our schools.
To support this work, we have partnered with Fielding International, a firm with extensive experience in educational facility planning both nationally and internationally. Our goal is to present a board-approved Master Plan by late fall 2025.
Purpose of the Master Plan
The Master Plan will provide a strategic roadmap to:
- Align our facilities with future educational needs
- Ensure the best use of available resources and spaces
- Support innovative teaching and learning practices
- Prepare students for future success through modern, adaptable environments
This plan will help us build a sustainable future that continues to inspire and empower all Chippewa Valley learners.
Latest Progress
Phase 1 – Discovery:
Fielding International has engaged with a variety of stakeholder groups to better understand current needs and opportunities. They have completed meetings with 7 of the 14 groups and are scheduled to complete the remaining meetings by May 13. Building tours are underway and will be completed over the next few weeks. An update will be presented to the Board on May 19.
Phase 2 – Visioning:
The first Design Advisory Team (DAT) meeting was held on April 15, bringing together around 50 stakeholders from across the district. Additional input is being gathered through a district-wide survey to ensure a broad community voice. The Visioning Phase is expected to conclude by the end of June, with a presentation to the Board in July outlining Guiding Principles for the Master Plan.
Phase 3 – Master Planning:
The Master Planning Phase will launch following the Visioning work and continue through October 2025, ultimately shaping a clear and actionable path forward for Chippewa Valley Schools.
