Academic Honors:

Students with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher at the end of the 11th semester of high school will be awarded with a medal at Senior Honors Night to be worn at graduation. The three levels of academic honors are as follows:

Summa Cum Laude - GPA of 3.9 or higher

Magna Cum Laude - GPA of 3.75 - 3. 89

Cum Laude - GPA of 3.5 - 3.74

 

Honors Cords and Sashes:

Graduating seniors participating in a recognized school club, athletic team, marching band, or musical production for all grades 10-12 (or all years eligible if student moved in), and meeting the eligibility criteria described below will earn the appropriate Honor Cord(s) or Sash(es) to wear at graduation:

Gold Cord — National Honor Society        

Blue Stole — Key Club

Blue/White Cord —DECA           

Rainbow Twist Cord — National Art Honor Society   

Red/Navy Cord —Business Professionals of America       

Blue/Red Cord – Educators Rising

Red or White Stole — CV Connected - Music, Activities, and/or Athletics

Gold/Navy Blue/Red Cord - Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Eligibility Criteria for Earning a Cord/Sash:

A student must meet the following minimum standards by February 10th of their SENIOR YEAR to

earn a cord or sash:

  • A 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • A member in good standing of an approved participating club. Including participation in the club, sport, or fine art during all grades 10-12 (or all years eligible if student moved in).
  • Student must have a record of discipline that includes NO MORE than FIVE detentions during grades 10-12. In addition, any suspension during grades 10-12 could make a student ineligible and will be reviewed by administration.
